wafting around. have a range of about 1 to 2% on balance, equity hovering around 2 or 3% change a day. activity is about 25% of normal.





basically all the majors have gone into tight ranges. nfp prognosis is not to good either. last two years all it does is cause high speed ranges. rarely do we get going after the data release.

not much else to say, just have to wait out the doldrums. long as we don't lose money, which we are not. so all good.

can't complain about decemeber. jan should be better one hopes. less interruptions. we haven't done pair selection yet, so we're trading with pairs in here that doesn't work. i'm waiting to see of even they turn green, but if we use just the top ten pairs you can double these results. if we then double the trade sizes to make up for the lost pairs you can double the results again...

technical trouble

over and above another blown laptop, it transpires that our code acts differently on different pc's.

on the server it does one trade on a pair till the previous is closed. on my machine, multiples in the same direction. it's like two different EA's, but we can't find the difference.

don't know what causes it. just loooooooooove mt4...

sorry folks. i'm prepping for saudi, going for four months. i had to intervene on the automated trading, and you can see the wobbly result. i'll fight it back to 3k and then go fully auto again. keep you posted....

sorry for absence. i was at a thai wedding and after that it was paperwork to stay in thailand. trading wise nothing's changed. still losing slowly. markets just ain't budging. i'll pull the plug at 2k and wait for better conditions. very frustrating market, but at least we took 8 weeks of nothing and we're still in the game, which is a small victory in itself.

month end

starting to see signs of life. officially we ended the month on an abysmal -14.7% with max losses of -15.59%, the max draw so far is 23.15% on the portfolio. we have +2% open and unrealized. with the volatility returning to the dollar and a hectic data week i'm hoping we can get some gains under the belt for a change.

ouch! nother -2.72%. and today is already worse. usd is on the cusp of having to do something big. little more push and the USD index will fall of a cliff. or they have to seriously push it away from here.

another down day. three in a row. ibfx a bit slow this morning, so I don't have the figures, but i'd say it's about 1.5% or so. exact figure doesn't matter much in the bigger scheme of things. and so we churn some more, still no real direction. just have to keep wading through the churning till we get going. no point in losing patience or trying to change settings.

slight loss yesterday, 1.2% putting our monthly gain on 7.9%. the dollar is proving to be very difficult and only the jpy's are saving our butts at this point. kinda frustrating....

fighting back hard now. after the dollar doldrums which lasted for june - july. by the looks of it, apparently it does that every year. with the current global turmoil i'm looking forward to a nice volatile rest of the year now that july is drawing to a close and we're starting to see life in the market again.

yesterday was very good. we're about to hit the first level of compounding. june was a very sideways month. i'm hoping we have a hectic month or two which would build just the kind of foundation we need under this thing.

right, i think we cracked that rather convincingly. having a period of over performance, so we should hit a patch of non performance soon. i would expect to draw down back to $3000 to establish the new base for us. the trade sizes are probably a bit on the large size considering the equity swings, but i can live with it, a draw down of 30% at some point should be expected at this pace though...
